Auburn Ambulance Station FitoutThe heritage building of the Auburn Ambulance Station is being trasnformed into a state of the art pub and restaurant. The work for the fitout involved designing energy-efficient and cost-effective mechanical services including VRF air conditioning system, energy-recovery air conditioning system, and kitchen ventilation system. This involved CFD odour modelling to ensure that occupants of adjacent apartment building would experience no odour nuisance outside their balconies. Chandler ResidenceThis 5 bedroom house, including home offices, is a residential home with a difference. It is designed with a large rammed earth wall in the centre of the home to provide natural heating and cooling to the building.
Grafton Base Hospital – Ambulatory Care UnitThe project encompasses the construction of a new three storey building comprising of two levels of patient care, an undercroft area and a plant room. Healthcare facilities, by their nature, are complex, with a wide range of functional and services requirements that place a high demand on energy, water and materials.
Project Neon – Scalzo FoodsThe SEED QA system, which is developed inhouse for inhouse projects, is designed to guarantee complete elimination of re-work and wasting resources while achieving compliance with the engineering standards and sustainability requirements of the project. That is accomplished by conducting a series of workshops/sessions to lock-in data and information prior to proceeding to the next design stage. The peer review of this project lasted 6 weeks for the entire project and consisted of four workshops. Upon each workshop, SEED Engineers provided all involved parties with a roadmap and to-do tasks inline with a realistic timeline. SEED Engineers continuously reviewed all design submissions and provided the designer with highlighted issues in advance in preparation of each workshop. The peer review resulted in professional management and reporting from SEED Engineers and a fully complying design and calculations.
Mater – Steam and Heating Feasibility StudyThe Steam and Heating Feasibility Study’s Project Mission is to investigate and determine the most suitable transition plan to replace steam and heat generation at Mater’s South Brisbane campus towards less emissions-intensive, more socially and environmentally acceptable technologies, in line with the Mater Sustainability Program.
163 Abbot Street, CairnsFor this project, SEED conducted a review of the plant and equipment sizing.
Intercity Fleet Maintenance Facility, Kangy AngyThis project consisted of a natural ventilation study to determine thermal comfort with the use of roof ventilators and automated louvres.
Palladium TowerSEED was engaged in this project to model a proposed design for the adequate and efficient discharge ventilation of an eight-storey carpark. The proposed design deviated from DTS requirements by having below minimum exhaust separation distances to building openings as set out in the Australian Standards. To compensate for this, the design ensures that the discharge is soundly engineered.
Bohemia ApartmentsSEED was engaged for this project to design an appropriate, efficient, and sustainable air-conditioning and ventilation system for the inhabitants of the 94 apartment complex known as the Bohemia Apartments. This involved applying a performance strategy for a two level carpark which utilised jet fans and other mechanical ventilation techniques.
King’s Co-opWe provided mechanical design and kitchen ventilation for a single level bar and restaurant. This project consisted of a kitchen, 2 bar areas, and amenities.
