This project consisted of a natural ventilation study to determine thermal comfort with the use of roof ventilators and automated louvres.

The Challenges Faced

The use of acoustic rated louvres and roof ventilators with fire proof mesh reduced the ventilation effectiveness. The building would also undergo significant temperature increases because several passenger trains would sit out in the sun all day prior to being brought into the workshop.

The Solution Provided

We were able to provide advice on the total square meter of each type of opening and the most efficient location to maintain a comfortable space.
