SEED was engaged to provide design expertise for the installation of a state of the art kitchen ventilation scheme and air conditioning for high occupancy restaurant at El Camino Cantina in Bowen Hills, Queensland. The project required a performance approach to achieve low flow solutions and our unique experience with recirculation hoods was vital for the project design.

The Challenges Faced

The project required a quick turnaround on a new state of the art kitchen ventilation scheme that had not been tested within specific parameters related to the project in the real world prior to installation. The air conditioning design was challenging because the restaurant was built for high occupancy and has large windows that can be opened. As such, the tenancy air conditioning fit-out required base build alterations to be able to function correctly and maintain national standards.

The Solution Provided

SEED was able to provide speedy designs and resolved installation issues quickly. We designed and installed a successful kitchen ventilation system using the Coanda Recirculation Hood. Likewise, we were able to provide the restaurant with adequate air conditioning by using base build and supplementary fan coil units, which required relocating inside the tenancy.
