The Challenges Faced

The project posed two significant challenges for SEED Engineers: Fire Pump Room Ventilation System - Construction was already underway when SEED Engineers were engaged, necessitating the design of a compliant fire pump room ventilation system within the constraints of the existing structure. This required retrofitting a solution that adhered to Australian standards without disrupting ongoing construction activities. Car Park Ventilation System - Designing an efficient car park ventilation system within the shared basement parking area presented additional challenges. The system needed to comply with performance standards while minimizing ductwork, reducing airflow rates, and optimizing energy consumption.

The Solution Provided

SEED Engineers delivered innovative and practical solutions to address these challenges: Fire Pump Room Ventilation - An exhaust and supply air system was designed to ensure compliance with Australian standards, extracting air from the basement to ground level without creating environmental nuisance. The system included fire-protected enclosures for the ductwork to maintain integrity during emergencies. Car Park Ventilation Optimisation - Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling was employed to optimize the car park ventilation system.
